How to Participate in a Reiki Share

How to Participate in a Reiki Share

Also known as a Reiki circle, a Reiki share involves a group of people who practice the 2,500 year-old healing art of Reiki. The share, or circle, is a group healing session, during which many healing hands and energies are provided to each member of the group on an individual basis. It's fun, educational and rewarding to participate in a Reiki share if you can locate a group near you. Read on to learn more.

1

Search the Internet for local Reiki practitioners. Practitioners are most likely to be the leader of a Reiki share group or they will know where and when one meets.

2

Find out if the group requires you to have formal training or certification in Reiki. Most allow amateurs. A Reiki share can be a very rewarding educational experience for people of all levels of skill.

3

Take along, if asked, a poem or reading to share with the Reiki group. This should be a relevant selection to the circle's interests and intentions for the share.

4

Bring along one or two of your own pillows, a favorite blanket and some bottled water. Although tables and snacks will most likely be provided by the share's host/hostess, you need to make sure you'll be able to stay comfortable and hydrated throughout the session.

5

Ask if lunch will be a potluck arrangement and if so, if you need to take a dish. If you are asked to provide food, ask if it should be vegetarian.

6

Be considerate of the other members of the Reiki share. Shower before you go, nix the perfume and leave your jewelry at home. It's also very important to turn off your cell phone once you arrive at the circle.
